And so it begins...

So a bit of an introduction, I believe, is in order. My name, somewhat obiviously is David Selders and I have been the IT field for the past twelve years. Initially I provided first level support handling such glamorous tasks like clearing printer jams and explaining the use of email and office software. Initially my interest was in the system administration of UNIX systems, specifically Solaris. The command line interface is what appealed to me most about managing these systems. The first certification that I earned was in for Solaris 8, seems like a long time ago now. It wasn't long after attaining that certification that I was placed on a project to completely overhaul our network infrastructure at work. Previous to this project I had some experience with Cisco devices, mostly on catalyst switches. It was this project that truly got my hands dirty, so to speak. My eyes were opened to the world of routing and switching. Fast forward quite a bit to today and what is at the root of starting this venture, working to attain my CCNP(Route & Switch).

The catalyst to this journal/blog was a post on a blog that I've been following for a while now. His post struck a chord with me, as I am preparing for the ROUTE exam. So here I am putting words to paper, err ether... What I hope to achieve here is provide material for those also looking to achive the CCNP as well as challenge my own knowledge. The thing I've noticed as I've been prepping is that there seems to be pletny of sites for labs if your working on your CCIE or CCNA, but I haven't seen many focsed on CCNP. So it's my intention and goal to put labs together to share with everyone.
